Who We Are
GDN Advisory is an independent property advisory practice focused on helping clients make informed decisions relating to buildings, property and the built environment.
The practice provides strategic guidance across residential, sectional title and commercial property contexts, assisting clients with feasibility, compliance, maintenance planning, building risk and broader property-related decision-making.
Director & Lead Advisor
GDN Advisory is led by Gustav de Necker, a professional architect with over a decade of experience across large-scale commercial, civic and high-end residential projects throughout South Africa.
Prior to founding GDN Advisory, Gustav worked as a Senior Associate at Co-Arc International Architects, where he was involved in the coordination and delivery of complex architectural projects requiring strategic planning, technical oversight and multidisciplinary collaboration.
His experience spans project strategy, design coordination, feasibility thinking and navigating the practical realities of complex building environments.

Strategic & Analytical Thinking
In addition to his architectural background, Gustav completed an MBA through Henley Business School, strengthening the practice’s broader strategic, analytical and business-focused approach to property advisory.
This combination of architectural expertise and strategic thinking informs GDN Advisory’s emphasis on clarity, independent guidance and structured decision-making.
Our Approach
GDN Advisory operates as an independent advisory practice focused on providing objective, practical and strategically informed guidance relating to property and building decisions.
The practice works across a range of project scales and property contexts, from residential feasibility and renovation guidance to sectional title advisory, compliance matters and broader commercial property considerations.
The focus is not simply on design, but on helping clients better understand possibilities, constraints, risks and long-term implications before major decisions are made.
Collaborative Network
Depending on the nature of the project, GDN Advisory works alongside a broader network of consultants, specialists and industry professionals to assist clients in navigating complex property and building-related matters.
